Op 1 juni (2012) is Stichting Marketing Oost opgericht, de koepelorganisatie om het oosten van het land, en daarbinnen Salland, te promoten. Op 1 oktober 2012 trad het Sallands Bureau voor Toerisme toe tot Marketing Oost.
